UKAS Accredited Asbestos Surveys
Casa Environmental Services specialise in providing all types of accredited asbestos surveys to buildings of all types and sizes throughout the UK.
We are a Type C inspection body accredited by UKAS (Ref: 7914) to ISO17020 standards to offer asbestos Management, Refurbishment & Demolition surveys to Commercial & Domestic environments. We are also able to conduct surveys to the Industrial & Marine industries, as well as undertake Reinspection/Condition surveys outside of the scope of our UKAS accreditation.
All surveys we undertake enable our clients to comply with their obligations under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. Regulation 4 “Duty to Manage”. This regulation requires the dutyholder of a building to identify, locate and manage asbestos. A dutyholder may be the owner , caretaker, manager or other appointed person responsible for the maintenance of a building. Failure to comply can result in prosecution by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Asbestos Refurbishment & Demolition (R&D) Surveys
Asbestos refurbishment and demolition surveys are undertaken prior to any proposed refurbishment or demolition work. They are significantly more intrusive than management surveys and are designed to detect asbestos that may be disturbed as a result of the scheduled works. Any suspected materials will be sampled and tested in our UKAS accredited testing laboratory and the results included in a survey report that will enable the asbestos to be dealt with prior to the proposed works taking place.
Asbestos Reinspection & Condition Surveys
The purpose of asbestos reinspection/condition surveys is to reinspect the condition of all ACMs identified in any previous management or refurbishment survey for any signs of damage or deterioration . They should be carried out at regular, pre-determined intervals and ensure that if a material’s condition has deteriorated and has become more hazardous appropriate action can be taken to manage the change in circumstances.
