Trainee Asbestos Surveyor – Plymouth/ Devon
Job Description
The successful candidate will be mentored through Casa’s in-house training programme and will be trained and supported to achieve industry recognised qualifications, such as BOHS P402 “Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings”. You will work on a variety of different sites and in various locations across the Southwest of the UK. No two days will be the same as each working day will allow you to gain a diverse range of skills within the industry. The role is technical, physical, and hands-on. It will require you to physically and visually inspect buildings, capturing building construction and material data along with drawing electronic site plans.
Essential Criteria:
- Basic understanding of DIY, the building trade/ construction industry
- Good understanding of technology (use of tablet-based applications)
- Full UK Driving Licence
Primary Duties:
- Building inspections – to include, Management and Refurbishment/ Demolition Asbestos Surveys
- Liaise with tenants and client representatives in a professional manner
- Sampling in accordance with HSE Guidance HSG264/ HSG248, and in-house technical procedures
- Record data accurately on company database, via a tablet device
- Accurately record sample information onto sample bags and sample labels
- Produce accurate electronic site plans, where necessary and accurately record all sample locations and material extent onto final plans
- Check plans against data on tablet and sample bags, prior to submission
- Ensure all samples taken are submitted to the laboratory for analysis, within the client specified time frame
- Quality Assurance checks of report accuracy
