Asbestos Surveys
In January 2025, following a successful tender process, Casa’s Devon Branch commenced asbestos surveying services for Torbay Council. This ongoing contract covers a diverse range of sites within the Council’s extensive property portfolio, including council corporate buildings, primary schools, and other community facilities.
As part of the service delivery, Casa has undertaken both asbestos reinspection surveys and refurbishment surveys across these properties. This work is essential in ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance, safeguarding building occupants, and supporting Torbay Council’s property management strategy.
Notable locations surveyed include Our Lady of the Angels Catholic School, a site with historical significance. The school is part of the Assumption of Our Lady parish, linked to the Church of the Assumption of Our Lady, built in 1853–1854. Most recently, Casa’s team attended St Mary’s Catholic School in Axminster to conduct a reinspection to ensure their compliance with asbestos regulations.
Throughout the project, Casa has worked collaboratively with council representatives, ensuring minimal disruption to site operations and adhering to strict health and safety standards. By maintaining open communication and a proactive survey schedule, Casa has helped Torbay Council:
- Maintain compliance with current Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR 2012).
- Reduce long-term risks through accurate reporting and clear management recommendations.
- Protect public health within community spaces.
