Keeping your school safe this back-to-school season

It’s back to school season, and as always, your safety is our top priority. Ensuring a safe environment for the upcoming school year includes having an up-to-date asbestos register and an asbestos management plan in place.

A recent report published by the Medical Research Council found more than 75% of the 33,600 schools in the UK contain asbestos – this is not of concern, as long as schools are taking the appropriate measures to manage asbestos safely.

The HSE have produced a number of resources to help you with your compliance to Asbestos Regulations. You can download the asbestos management checklist for schools here. This checklist was created for the individual with the dedicated responsibility for repair and maintenance of a school building (also known as the duty holder), so they can clearly review their asbestos management arrangements, asking key questions to ensure suitable precautions are in place and record any further action needed.

Thinking of using Casa? Here are some testimonials from our works in schools:

‘Very grateful as I rang with a very short timescale, and they arranged a visit within the next week. The gentleman who came was very accommodating and did all he could to make as least damage when investigating and also repaired what he could. He took photos for us, so we didn’t require further investigative work and tidied up after himself. Excellent service.
