Asbestos Management Survey

Location:

Isle of Wight

Casa’s Hampshire Branch has recently conducted a number of Asbestos Management Surveys for Savills, including one to all areas of a property currently on the market on the Isle of Wight, which will help facilitate its sale. Savills are a globally renowned commercial & residential real estate company, and one of the world’s leading property agents, who we have had the pleasure of dealing with multiple times in the past. The site in question is currently known as East Cowes Conservative Club, which has historically been used as an extensive traditional social club, making use of an expansive open plan space.

The two-storey building was constructed well before the 1999 outright asbestos ban in the UK, so Savills followed correct protocol by following the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and ensuring that an up-to-date asbestos record is in place, along with management provisions.

Our Surveyor Jamie completed the work in the dedicated time frame as per the client’s specification, conducting a visual inspection and taking samples of any suspect materials, to send back to our UKAS Accredited Laboratory.

Once the on-site inspection and laboratory analysis was completed Casa provided a comprehensive report detailing the findings from the survey, including any recommended actions.  These ranged from monitoring the condition of various materials, including cement roof slates, as well as the suggestion for removal on materials such as asbestos insulating board.

Casa’s surveyors have been trained to ensure they capture as much information as possible during the survey and articulate the information in a way that is easy to understand. This includes the material, location, product type, as well as a risk score and recommended actions.

Casa also provides a post survey support service to answer any questions our clients may have and support them in making decisions regarding remedial or management actions.

We look forward to continuing working with Savills and assisting with their safety and compliance to asbestos regulations.
