Asbestos Surveying & Consultancy

Casa Environmental Services recently undertook a refurbishment survey of a Grade II listed, flint knapped 6-bedroom house in Chichester that was originally built in the early 1700s and is owned by the National Trust.

The building has remained relatively untouched for quite some time and is due an internal and external refurbishment. During the survey consideration was given to the building’s listed status, to ensure intrusion and damage was kept to an absolute minimum.

Asbestos containing materials were found in a soil pipe, flues and floor tiles.  We also tested bath panels, window sills, paper, gaskets and insulating boards which were not found to contain asbestos by our UKAS accredited laboratory.

Samples taken of suspect materials were all analysed within 3 days allowing the survey report to be compiled and issued 2 days later following technical review and approval.

The whole surveying process was completed within the required timescales and to the complete satisfaction of the client. We look forward to working with Sloane & Brown again in the future.
