A look back at 2024 at Casa

As the year draws to a close, we would like to take this opportunity to wish our clients and connections a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We would also like to thank you for all of your business and support during 2024.

It’s been a busy and exciting year at Casa Environmental Services, so we have taken the time to reflect on some of the highlights of the year.

Throughout 2024, Casa undertook a total of 8,436 asbestos surveys3500 air tests, and we analysed over 50,000 bulk samples in our in-house laboratory. We also had 17 new members of staff join us!

New Hampshire Laboratory

Casa was absolutely delighted to see the opening of our second UKAS Accredited Laboratory in Hampshire. This new Laboratory is run by Andre Taylor, who has fifteen years of experience in the asbestos industry and ten in laboratory management. Andre gained his P401 in 2009 and continued to work in the industry before joining Casa at the end of 2023. Since then, our team has been working tirelessly to achieve UKAS accreditation which has now been granted under our existing schedule (ref 7914).

Contract Awards

Casa Environmental Services are delighted to have been successful in securing Water Hygiene works with St Austell Brewery.

Our Water Hygiene team will be assisting the Brewery with their ongoing compliance to regulations by conducting legionella risk assessments, and producing the legionella written scheme of control.

We also conducted Water Hygiene works for the MOJ and boarder force to assist with their compliance.

Casa was awarded a place on the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust Framework, as well as beginning to service works for Selwood Housing, completing all asbestos survey types.

We’ve just recently successfully secured a tender with Bristol City Leap, conducting Asbestos Surveys for their Warm Homes Social Housing Fund.

Throughout the summer, our analysts attended the Brabazon Hangars in Filton, in preparation for the plans for a new 17,000 capacity concert arena.

We’re delighted to have been conducting works for Hydrock this year, attending high security sites such as military bases and prisons all over the country to conduct asbestos works.

New Branch Manager

In September, Casa introduced our New Manager for our Devon & Cornwall Branch, Alistair Williamson. Alistair has been with Casa since 2021as our Consultancy & Analytical Manager, responsible for the day-to-day running of our Plymouth Office.

Alistair has been working hard to form new relationships and strengthen our presence in the region, from which we have already seen a huge amount of growth for the branch, which we look forward to continuing.

UKAS

Casa is delighted to announce that at the end of May, we underwent another rigorous UKAS assessment, and we have received plenty of positive feedback (we ae accredited by UKS under ISO 17025 and ISO 17020, testing number 7914)

New Qualifications

Casa has seen a number of staff transition from trainees to fully qualified, achieving their BOHS P402 Asbestos Surveying Qualification, including Chesney and Tom from Bristol, Craig from our Plymouth Office, and Dan from our Hampshire Office,
